Eastern India is one of the regions, I have never explored. Visiting the seven sisters, I was always on my wish list !! Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim were on the top I wished to start with. For some reason, Arunachal did not work out so I planned for Sikkim this year. I have been researching for quite some time now and finalized an itinerary. Crossed my fingers that weather is in my favour and I am able to complete all the activities I had planned…!
Day 1 : Arrive at Bagdogra and overnight halt at Siliguri. Siliguri is about 10 km from Bagdogra and most hotels/stay are available here.
Day 2: Transfer to Gangtok via Cab from Siliguri. The distance is about 120km and travel time is 4.5 hours. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 3: Sightseeing in and around Gangtok city and Cable Car ride.
Day 4 : Visit to Nathula Pass, Tsomgo lake, Baba mandir and Nathula pass via cab
Day 5 – Day 8 : 3 N 4D to North Sikkim Lachen, Lachung, Zero point valley Gurundangamor lake.
Day 9 – Day 11: Stop over at Gangtok before heading to Pelling. Try Paragliding.
Day 12: Pelling and local sightseeing
Day 13-Day 15 : Darjeeling and local sightseeing. The must toy train ride.
Day 15: Head back to Bagdogra to return home.
